El 18 de noviembre de 2024, el Primer Ministro de la India, Shri Narendra Modi, y la Primera Ministra de Italia, Giorgia Meloni, elaboraron un plan de acción estratégico en conjunto.
Dentro de los puntos que se mencionan en el acuerdo se encuentran el aumento del comercio bilateral, el acceso a los mercados y la inversión y la promoción de las asociaciones industriales, centros tecnológicos e inversiones mutuas, con foco en automoción, semiconductores, infraestructuras y fabricación avanzada.
Ambos países en el área de tecnología se comprometieron a explorar nuevas vías de cooperación en la Industria 4.0, la fabricación avanzada, la energía limpia, la extracción y refinación de minerales críticos, involucrando al mundo académico y las industrias, incluidas las pymes y las empresas emergentes de los dos países.
Asimismo, se estableció la colaboración en materia de infraestructuras marítimas y terrestres en el marco del Corredor Económico India-Oriente Medio-Europa (IMEEC) y la conclusión del Acuerdo de cooperación en el sector marítimo y portuario.
